It's all happening in May

Dearest Doves,
There is so much happening this month I am overwhelmed.
First off I will be teaching a movement workshop at Gibney Dance Center 280 Broadway (the former DNA) on Thursday May 15th at 10am. It will be an hour long physical warm up to get you started for the day and then an hour of investigating the improv ideas that I have discovered with my performers in the creation of Restless Night. It is open to dancers and non-dancers so if you were looking for a place to get your groove on and work your brain this is it. I suggest a donation of $20. It is a fundraiser for my current work. 


May 20th is my birthday and I have not yet decided how to spend it. It will be racuous and at 8:30pm that evening somewhere in New York City. Stay tuned and in touch.


My next event is a showing of my work in progress, Restless Night, on May 24th at Gibney Dance Center 890 Broadway (the Union Square location) at 6:30pm. It is a studio showing and has limited seating so please RSVP to [email protected] in order to attend. Restless Night is an exploration of the way the subconscious life manifests in our everyday relationships. I have been working with the amazing performers Rowan Magee, Erica Newhouse and Leah Walsh. It has been a joy and a pleasure to share the space with them. 


The following day, May 25th, I will be hosting a Moving Sale. That's right, folks, I'm moving. I am cutting my tethers and launching myself into the unknown. First, I will head to Seattle to regroup and then to Europe to explore and seek employment. However, before that can happen, I need to empty my apartment of all its contents. Please help me do this by coming over that Sunday and haggling with me for lamps, furniture and other sundries. Doors open at Noon. Get there!


On May 30th I will be performing my last show in New York City (for the foreseeable future) at 8:30pm at the Brooklyn Zen Center with the lovely ladies of Erica Essner Performance Coop. It will be a bit of a test run of the piece that we are premiering in Bulgaria the following week. It is athletic, delicate and involves a lot of lifting; worth a gander. 


Overall, it is a jam pack month and I would really love to see all my friends at all these events. Join me! The party is now!
