ARTIST STATEMENT:
The work I make is an exploration of how to integrate the visceral experience of the unknown into the formal structure of performance. I am interested in the knowledge of the body and how to access it. I work with collaborators of all kinds and seek to invite audience members into a ritual space during performance.
My way of understanding the world is by making and sharing dance. I believe that art is a deeply radical way to process the experience of being alive. I believe that making dance is one of the most ancient, immediate and sacred creative practices that exists. Our communities are healthier when we move together. When we witness that movement we affirm each other. To this end I have charged myself with the responsibility of pursuing dance as a practitioner, creator, educator and an advocate to my fullest capability.

Choreographers Lucie Baker and Carlye Eckert, in cahoots with set designer Chimmy Gunn and composer Michael Caterisano, explore our daily demolitions and recreations of home through the manipulation of space, sound and movement.
This production started with The Field's Emerging Artist Residency program, supported by Lambent Foundation Fund of the Tides Foundation and was furthered by CPR's rehearsal residency subsidy supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The final funding came from the Mertz Gilmore Foundation Late-Stage Production Stipend and individual donors.
